Do your brakes do any of the following?

Grinding – heavily worn brake pads grind when they rub on the metal caliper this then can damage the disks.

Squeaking – this can be caused when a pad has stuck and the brake pad remains partially applied to the disc.

Pulsating – If your brake pedal pulsates this could mean your discs are warped. The most common sign for this is that they are overheating and this could affect the ABS.

Pulling – Does your car pull more on one side than another? If it does it could mean a seized caliper or hydraulic component seizure.

Sponginess – DO your brakes feel spongy or unresponsive? If they do this could mean air is in the brake line which can in turn prevent the brake fluid from flowing freely.

Soft Brake Pedal – Does your brake pedal feel soft ie, can you push it all the way to the floor? If you can this is a serious fault and needs to be checked out quickly. This could mean that your brake fluid needs changing or another part is faulty.

Brakes need changing dependent on how hard you drive the car and how much braking you do. Front brakes tend to wear out faster than rear brakes.

You should always replace both discs to prevent uneven braking.

The cambelt is one of the most crucial components for your engine. Always check to make sure you know when it needs replacing. We can identify this for you if you are unsure.
